uppity by Maria FrancescaI won't make you comfortable
I won't soothe your nerves
and if this makes you jumpy
it's what you deserve.
I won't be your fantasy
won't be your whore
I won't be your nursemaid -
not anymore.
The truth is you're happy
when I fit your mold
and if I get boisterous,
defiant or bold
it fits with your image
and makes you feel bigger
to label me
just a beligerant ------
But
If I speak with eloquence,
quiet and sure,
If I live with confidence,
peaceful, mature,
If I treat my life
like it's something profound
then nothing and no one
can hold me down. 09/26/2005
