Now Living

by Joe Cramer

I loved her, and pushed her away.

There were too many obstacles in the way.

I called her, years later, it seems,

Just to hear her voice, now only in my dreams.

I miss almost everything about her,

The coolness of her skin,

Her beautiful hazel-flecked eyes,

The way she said my name,

Ou walks, our talks, our larks

On the front lawn.

She's long gone.

I called her, now living without her.
