Chew, Then Swallow

by Joe Cramer

Chew

then swallow.

The bitterness

dissapates

with time

that is no longer

mine.

This pill

was hard

to take.

It took

all of me

to swallow.

I

wanted to

spit,

to quit

my life.

Instead

of sleeping pills

I wrote

this.

And there is no

one to talk to,

not even you.

Ahhh, but you have all of us to talk to. And we listen.

I appreciate the depth that this work arose from. Well-expressed.
