It Feels So Good to Me

by Joe Cramer

It feels so good to me,

It feels so good to me.

She has left me,

Gertrude Stein is gone,

All that is left me now is

A slim volume of

"Tender Buttons"

and Alice B. Toklas.

She knew Picasso.

I love van Gogh.

It feels good to me,

it feels so good to me.

What do you see?
How does it be

Come something else?
She's buried now,

Cimetiere du Pere-Lachaise.

I went there

To see you.

it feels good to me,

It still feels so good to me.

All I remember now is your name,

And seeing Oscar Wilde's too.

Oh, and that the cemetary

Was full of cats.

Not like the six-toed ones

Of Hemingway's in Key West.

Though he knew you,

It feels good to me,

It forever still feels so very good to me.

I miss you...
