Two-Faced by Daniel PetersonIt's easy loving the electronic part of you
anyone can love for an hour a day or two,
but I can't make the translation into flesh and bone
and be the soft-stuffed boy you wanted to own.
Trial and error cut me into two halves
one so bad at love, and one so good at math
that I can see the truth of my own limits,
the depths of my heart and what I put in it.
I know what you deserve, and what you will get
from a well-suited source that's not known yet,
who will shower you with comfort and confidence,
who will appeal to your kindest and sweetest sense,
and be able to love all the parts of you,
make his heart beat out a sensible tune,
be able to breathe in comfortable time,
and fit into all of your grandest designs.
