Cliff Diver by Christopher ShinI close my eyes
and the screams of
long lost lovers
echoes through
my ears.
The shallow cold
that even my coat
can not prevent.
It scatters any hope
of warmth.
The cigarette flickers
and ashes of my past
explodes into the air
as the red end tells
me to stop.
I yield to the daggers
and spears that
misery cuts pieces
of me with raw sadness.
And the earth engulfs
the remaining ambitions
of salvation. 08/07/2008 Posted on 08/07/2008 Copyright © 2025 Christopher Shin
