Vampires and Witches by Christopher ShinFall leaves and the autumn winds
blows the fallen through the
darkness of shadows.
I grip my arms as the
only hope escapes each breath.
The old familiar songs
linger as I remember
the ghosts of ancient rites.
Shadows loom over head
and silver moonlight flickers
behind deadend streets.
The dripping of love goes
on with the shattering
of veins.
Wednesday nights seem
longer when you are alone
in the blackest part of
our soul.
Canines sparkle in
the musty water that
pulls together in
empty sparks.
Yet in it all
I cling to the memories
of youth gone by,
and simple thoughts
of long lost dreams. 08/04/2008 Posted on 08/04/2008 Copyright © 2025 Christopher Shin

Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 08/04/08 at 04:11 PM I'd say there's few things better than being immersed in a poem dealing in imagery and language as rich and deep as what you've got going here. Great stuff, man. |
