Can I Get a Coward on the Rocks, Please?

by Elizabeth Seago

He tried.
He tried so hard
And she let those big blues pass her by.
She froze up, and although her friends can attest-
She isn't quite shy...

She couldn't breathe all too well,
And she knows, oh she knows.

She always had a tendency to back out
Ontop of that big ol' water slide.

A situation that is all too familiar. Nicely done. not too revealing. just enough to let the imagination fill in the blanks of the situation. keep up the good work.

What a little gem this is. I love the rhythm , and you've woven the words so well, describing a place that we've all been, with style. I'm very glad I found this.
