Liar by Olivia Weinkeinpoetry fills my head with lies
in all of its brutal honesty
words mean nothing words
mean
everything
they beckon to me and slam the door
in my face, they pull me into their arms
then make me feel out of place, theirs
is a beautiful violent contagious embrace
words mean everything, words
mean
nothing

My thinking is that the poet brings some kind of communication--whether it be emotional or intellectual--to the reader (or to him/herself). |
