Death's Dance

by Christopher Shin

Tears of red flicker
as the last the sunlight
stabs through the blinds.

Cold painful hands grasp
as it chokes the warmth
out of my neck.

Courage fails as lips
quiver against the lonely
shadow filled room.

The silent howls of feline
echoes through the still room.
Darting eyes slowly grow still,
and the patience of the end
is only rewarded for eternity.

Blades glimmer against the moonlight,
and a life time slumps down.
Hearts quickly slow down to
a long lecturing stall.

One more minute and hell has
already come and past.
Heaven and delights faded
a millenium ago.

Hairs fall forward and
empty hollows are left
to resemble what was
and what is forever lost.

...chris, tho' about death, the ol' social scales o' balance, i love it...we [living-depressed, looney, smart, drunk or the etcs. of life, still we can only imagine the nano-second of splitsville and you do it justice with your words: red, stabs, chokes, and a lot, lot more...tastes like i imagine chrome would.
