deus ex machina

by Jim Benz

Here are
as we see we
go here
through a slippery
crack here is ex
nihilo here
is a taste of some
parallel para-
llel here is
flesh
mortified by faith-
less oxymoron
blind eye
chord a bar
of reverb-
erant joy here
is beauty
undefined
within a gaze
a smile
this stark un-
knowingness

I suppose, in this instance, it is quite undefined. I just never thought of it as such.

Beauty may be undefined, but it's also relative to those who contemplate it. And if parallels run, well, parallel to each other, maybe they, too, can be relative. Your words offer a deceptive simplicity, yet they go much deeper in meaning than what's on the surface. It appears as if emotional turmoil is a strong undercurrent here. Excellent for the word economy, leaving readers to feel as they may.

I love it!!! It leaves the reader with many roads of thought to walk, their personal bent being the interpetive factor. Reperio Deus occultus ex ego delusionea --bf
