so much for summer

by Meghan Helmich

suited bodies leaning on palms,
overwhelmed and breathing heavy.
beaches with bathwater, hazel waves
falling all over themselves.

overwhelmed and breathing heavy -
sweaty hands folded into mountains,
falling all over themselves.
pink seams are bursting with

sweaty hands, folded into mountains.
forgotten plans still wide-eyed with sleep.
pink seams are bursting with
melted crayons and freshly painted

forgotten plans - still. wide-eyed with sleep,
the small warm faces turn to shade
melted crayons. and freshly painted,
suited bodies lean on palms.

...meghan, stylistics aside, which is *smack-0* by itself as a pantoum, but m'lady i love the lilt of the summer the way you've dressed it...a true summer written in a tight style...mmm

Definitely the feel of summer at the sea shore!
