the minotaur's vanity.

by Meghan Helmich

never
pretend to care
in close quarters, eye to
eye. she will see the insincere
meaning.

figure
the words said from
tight-lipped faces, peaceful
with disregard. letters that make
patterns,

double-
looped promises
thrown around, streaming out.
being so careless with a smirk
and nod.

these are
eventual
rolling masses that will
weigh a pair of shoulders into
corners.

do not
forget the soft
light of this honest beast.
she grows on and refuses to
forgive.

A difficult form to write. You've done it well. Thanks for the treat. -bf

The minotaur in "bits and pieces" it appears! Satirical!
