Wednesday, 16

by Melanie J Yarbrough

Makani folds into my arm,
her tiny legs with folded skin
are bunched. I worry
she is uncomfortable
my sister tells me "she's fine." And I
see her smile differently
than I remember.
Everything is here and,
finally,
so am I.
