Watching Time

by Joe Cramer

As I watch time that slowly slips away

Wondering what your love will bring this day.

The day does move and goes far beyond me

Farther than anything I could ever see.

Now that Winter has unleashed her Fury

And Spring still hides within such misery.

I am left longing for your love, my sweet,

As if slipping time allows us to meet.

A myriad of signs in this cold world,

Stiffen my heart, waiting for love to unfurl.

The passage of time does now but forsake

My true heart for you, this question I make.

This love you now give, this love that you share

Stops time, for an eternity of care.
