So she called me a jerk!

Was it my single, quick motion

Of such a short duration?

I liked that definition,

For as quickly as the "relationship"

Began, it summarily ended, by me.

Maybe it was just because I didn't

Have any of those jolting, bouncing

Or perhaps even thrusting motions

That are typically associated

With any notion of a "relationship."

I think it was more of my involuntary

Muscular movement that was spasmodic.

My heart just wasn't in it.

I tried to tell you, but you didn't

Get it, or me for that matter.

What you meant, by calling me a jerk 

Was that you truly, actually thought

I am some annoyingly stypid or foolish person

(I just didn't see it that way.)

Could it be that I am an unlikeable person,

Especially in any "relationship"

Though I don't see why, I felt that

At the very least I was kind, caring,

Never cruel, rude or small-minded.

In fact, I am very open-minded!

What you didn't see, was me

Pushing the weight of our "relationship"

From my shoulders like some Olympic weightlifter.

That, my dear, is a jerk. I'm not.
