100 New Entries

by Joe Cramer

Now a hundred new words

Have been added to my dictionary.

As if we didn't have enough words

How many more words do we need?

Just because someone says so?

How much more will we heed

Just to make our language flow?

Already in our vocabulary!

Author's Note: I read today that 100 words were recently added to the dictionary....

with so many poets in the world we need as many words as we can possibly have. I'm always afraid that we will run out of verbal combinations and continue to say the same things over and over again that somewhere there is a poem just like one I've written or like this one in another place....just a thought....thanks for the read.

One of my recent poems displayed a line, "I'm where the Dictionary gets words." Shortly there-after I created a new word in another poem, and no one was the wiser. The English language is unbelievable with its flexibility. It is approaching a point where it can express our feelings almost as well as our eyes.
