She Comes In Colors Everywhere

by Elizabeth Seago

You've always been a rainbow to me.
Coloring my world with your
Technicolor glow after this
Black and white life pours down on my
Restless soul.

Forever knowing the right thing to say
Without saying anything at all.
And oh,
I could bask in your sweet rays for hours

-But I've always known you couldn't stay with me that long.

Bittersweet, but thus is the makeup of your beauty.
I'll only see you once and a while.
Once and a while, now.

Gotta stay focused, keep my heart steady-
And know that you'll come around again soon.
And even though my world,
Oh this
Universe can get quite heavy-
I know I shouldn't stay eternally wrapped in your
Iridescent cocoon.

But won't you come out and play today, love?

Absolutely beautiful... Chris is someone I would be jealous of, if I could inspire such words. ~N
