So recently, I had been thinking

That I should just quit drinking.

It's not worth the eternal headache.

I sat there, unsmiling, unblinking,

My eyes open wide, pupils dilated, shrinking.

No more long wasted mornings stuck in bed,

At least I'll have a much clearer head.
