The Rain Splatters

by Joe Cramer

The rain splatters

As if it really matters

To the ground!

Droplets fall

And splash against the wall

Of my life.

A cacophony of sound

While water cascades down

In early afternoon.

The steady downpour

Makes for such a steamy outdoor

Cooling parched earth.

To jump right in

Where would I begin?

A big puddle.

Instead, I'll just wait and see

What the weather will bring me,

Oh, for sunny days!

The rain splashes

Driving wet gashes

Into muddy earth.

I'm warm and dry

As I watch the sky

Clear, a little.

Author's Note: I love the rain.... I almost wrote this as a series of haiku, or renga.....

Lovely imagery of a summer shower! Very lyrical.
