I Liked Her Hands

by Joe Cramer

I liked her hands

Soft and supple,

Long fingers with

Well manicured nails.

She touched me

And I so enjoyed each

And every second of it.

She told me that

She didn't like her hands.

I don't know why.

Too thin, too spidery

She said, veiny as well.

I said that they were so delicate

As if they belonged

On so many piano keys.

I would have kissed

Her hands, forever

And a day.

I liked her hands

She didn't.
