As we go through these days of our lives

And beyond, what's the point?

Why bother, as someone who became famous

Once wrote me.

Unfortunately

I was young and dumb,

And today much older,

But none the wiser.

I'm actually not that smart

Just very well read.

Oh, the thoughts and ideas

That flit through my head.

Author's Note: ... there was more to this, but I decided to add it in the commentary, since I never Journal... it was Shakespeare who inspired the quote for the title, I wonder if the television show "Days of Our Lives" pays homage to the Bard. In Graduate School at the University of New Orleans, Dr. Stephen Ambrose wrote on my essay about Allied influences in WWII, "why bother".... I still have that paper today... (I did get a "A").... anyway, more ramblings.....
