In standing next to you

I watch, look, wait and listen

Wondering what I should say

Or exactly what I should do.

Could my thoughts be any more plain?
I want to share a smile,

Or perhaps even a thought or two.

I still don't know what to do,

I just want to talk to you.

So I try for meaningless banter

Hoping that you will see my interest.

I would love to share my world, it's true,

Just don't know how I could start,

Or even begin.

I feel so very plain,

The wallflower at the ball.

I know nothing at all......
