one more crack by Maria Francescaone more ounce of precious gas
one more crowded overpass
one more smile like broken glass
one more crack in the wall
one more thrill ride, sans the thrill,
reeling, waxen, spent and ill --
let me off, I've had my fill
of angst and alcohol
one more faithless semifriend
one more gasping nightmare's end
six a.m. - it starts again;
I stagger, then I fall
one more slip I'm bound to make
in my coffin, wide awake;
can't die now - I'd miss the ache
the engine gently stalls
one more end before the start
one more shrunken shriveled heart
one more scribble, dressed as art
one more crack in the wall

Posted by George Hoerner on 06/18/08 at 03:32 PM Very well done lady. My problem was I could never drink enough to lose the angst. So I just stopped drinking. Just a little wine to mellow the playing field. Again, well done! |
