I have never gone to bed hungry

Though I have often not had a bed

To fall asleep in, on or about.

The floor always works, in a pinch.

I always ask why

When these thoughts in my head

Make me want to shout.

My malaise is forever self-imposed,

And my life is never as bad as I think.

I wonder if I could be homeless

(Would I have to "proof-read" my sign,

Or try to make it just rhyme?)

No, I have never gone hungry

Or homeless.

Never.

I am shameless.
