My mind goes a thousand miles a minute

Usually without me in it.

Though never does it creep

Sometimes I have trouble in sleep

When I can't shut it off, make it stop

So while in slumber I flop.

Then when I wake

I will typically take

A minute or two

Sometimes even a few

Minutes more to pen a word

Of these nocturnal submissions, seldom heard.
