watchin' by Charlie Morganclouds, kai, those are clouds. as my hand covers the sky
in its wave, its scope is the whole entire universe,
relfected in a kid's pupil.
clows!, clows!, he says. i say, eXactly kai, those are clouds.
and they're those white puffy things, there. see them?
clows!, clows!, index finger points.
beads of love cover my forehead as i watch his eyes,
the same eyes that see a pappaw, a lizard, a plane, a bird.
and now clows! pappaw, clows!
so when asked what i'm gonna do once i retire?
i reply that i'm going to watch those puffy clouds all day
and i hope to see some clows!

| Posted by George Hoerner on 05/29/08 at 06:42 PM Clows and Bannana fish, if JD Saliinger, are in the same category. They can olny be seen by children with bright new eyes recognizing the wonderful world around them. Most grow to see the rest of the world and forget how to see the clows again. Really nice write Charlie. |
