hey snakehips get me that 9 16ths. open-end;
i'd do it, 'cause he's my favorite of uncles.
i kept wondering, does a snake have hips?

for a minute or 15 or another errand and he'd ask
me to get that lawnmower part off the shelf, and
i'd hear hey, fireman, get me that mower part.

then on the home appliances aisle i'd be sport.
sport run over there to the fishing aisle;
fetch me that whirly-gig, you know, round thing.

i'd be chasing the same rabbits from snakehips
while he'd be busy slamming another tag on me;
i'd giggle on the inside, tell all my friends.

a two day stubble proved he was no slave to fashion
he'd not take too many minutes of the day seriously;
the Jones's didn't live on his street or block.
