The Dreams We Live; The Sleep We Kill by J. P. Davieswe reflect the shining exterior of beauty
no hardships to overcome
burning down every castle and bridge
to show scorn for the past
the generation of a failing planet
the offspring of entitlement
the well spring of disillusionment
the fame-seekers, the blameless
a parasite bred on wealth
to ignore the wild outdoors
the TV is my window pane
this screen reflects my soul
I have never learned to swim
nor walk, nor run, nor stroll.
the embodiment of convenience
the fracture of a whole
In dreams we live, don't wake us up
or sleep won't come at all.
