So We Cry

by Kourosh Taheri-Golvarzi

We stake proprietary claim on sovereign dirt
Because our egos try to own the universe;
This even when, considering that everything
We build comes powdering into the fallow soil,
Our situation, strained and tender, should alert
Us not to hitch a ride in civ'lization's hearse
Because, for so long, we've turned deaf ears to the ring
Of Mother Earth's alarm clock as its waters boil.
We can't hold out much longer living life like this,
Lest we deny each other unity and bliss.

Nicely done. Don't wait six months we may not be here. But again, if you take the long view maybe there are others out there that take better care of their planet than we do.

Nicely done, alot said in these lines, and who knows how long we have but living in each day better with the knowledge we must act now is key. Thanks for the insight. smh
