Surfacing by Jersey D GibsonI lay drowning,
in a sea of tears.
The waves overlapping,
covering my screams.
Water entering my lungs,
air escaping from me.
Clawing the ground with both hands,
fighting to be free.
I lay floundering,
in a pool of my own blood.
This puddle's overflowing,
drowing my cries.
Blood pressure is dropping,
life leaking away from me.
Gripping my soul with both hands,
struggling to survive.
I lay convulsing,
in an ocean of misery.
Sinking forever more,
depth-charge my pleas.
My body is sinking,
The world is falling away from me.
Clutch my fate with both hands,
swimming to my destiny. 05/23/2008
