Tempus Fugit

by Joe Cramer

As time marches on, thusly runs its course,

Who knows what the future will one day bring?

Life has been better, life has been much worse.

Many times I cry, so often I sing.

The joy in my heart, sometimes diminished

While I squander these days of my living.

I don't know what I started or finished

There is so much more I could be giving.

Time quickly moves away and does leave me

Now wondering what it is I should do.

I long to share who I am, what I see

With the love of my life, could it be you?

As time does fly and leaves my heart bereft

Nothing more, gained or lost, tempus fugit.
