a new name by Charlie Morgani would jump at first glance by the way it would look,
i mean, signed on the dotted line of officialdom.
if it were Dominique, i could own a chain of italian cafes
and peddle mafioso tactics to the other business owners.
i'd sign contracts with city planners, building insurers,
product salesmen, corporate [whatever that means] geeks.
i'd even threaten a guy like me, if people called me Big Jim,
or Big Bill, i'm just saying things would be a lot different.
so happy i would make heel-sparks spring, the heel wanting to lead
and every time he's following the toe, the instep, the entire foot.
never getting to lead, never making a choice, always following.
i'm the dangling participant o' life, wrestling for a toe-hold
to this God-given existence someone named Life, once a magazine.
a Rockwellian adventure into fantasy land of a happy nostalgia.
i'd have it all if i was known by some other name; i'd be a new me.

| Posted by Sandy M. Humphrey on 05/23/08 at 07:11 PM a rose by any other name would still smell as sweet and a poet named Charlie would still be as wise and clever be he William...like the concept but I reinvent without the name change so I do get it. smh |

The premise is sweet and thought provoking, but you have to know we all love you just as you are... exactly as you came to us... sending you wishes for a wonderful Memorial holiday weekend... from this side of paradise.. alisa ;-) |
