I think that you would love me

In a way that I have never known.

For all of the joy you have shown,

You would truly set my heart free.

So what do I do?

I simply push you away.

I leave you on this day.

I am afraid to love you.

There is so much love I desire,

So much happiness to share.

I just don't know how to care,

And instead, I remain a liar.

This love you would have for me

Is all that I could have ever wanted.

Yet my intentions remain daunted,

Our lives together will never be.
