it's over your shoulder

by Charlie Morgan

moody winds blow now, they grin
(stay still and you can feel them).
each piggy-back the other.

dominoes of days, aligned in care
and giving, filling and receiving.
a woman from the earth, EarthMother.

perhaps, a walking-among-us giant;
who has lived before this time.
one who will not deign to feign.

truly what is clear to the eye
is only the iceberg's tip;
she moves as though human.

a harlequin romance novel her facade,
the beige, billows of her nightgown
is the shelter for all loved ones.

i, her heathcliffe, walk proudly,
near prancing in my dailies, all
because she said yes 40 yrs. ago.

What a wonderful, fabulous testament to love, Charlie.. real love.. one that knows the test of time and understands what walking in wisdom and compassion is all about...Real love... amazing! Every time I run across it, every time I get near it's presence...every time I feel it's heartbeat.. and I have felt it here, in your piece. Congratulations on 40 years and counting! alisa ;_0
