A Mother Is

by Harold Millican

A Mother Is

A Mother Is
A mother is a guiding hand
That gives her child a push
A mother is
A mother is

A mother is patient
Firm, sensitive
Yet strong
A mother is
A mother is

A hard-worker
A confidant
A fighter and a friend
A mother is
A mother is

A virtuous example
With her by your side
You’ll win

A mother is
A mother is

When everyone’s lost faith in you
And you’re sad and low
A mother’s love will
Never leave

You will learn and know
There will be a time
When you mature
But to mom you’ll always be
The sweetest little boy or girl
In history
So here’s to you
Mom
Thanks for always caring for me.
Because of you
I’m the best I can be.
