enlightening

by Mary Frances Spencer

i grip
ancient stones
emotions
fists locked in
heavy pockets

i throw
one after the other
lightening the load

skipping their edges
against the clear

We all carry so much around in the back pocket of our mind. Ridding ourselves of stones really does lighten the load as difficult as it is to do. Great write.
