Rolling Over

by Sandy M. Humphrey

at three months old
my grandson has progressed
from his tummy to his back
a little rockin motion
and he flips with one arm
over his head
the look on his face
quizzical and questioning
"so what's next"

fast forward the clock
my little one and you'll
be lying in bed one morning
flat on your back
concentrating swinging
onto your side and upright
so that both of your legs
are dangling from the bedside
quizzical and questioning
"so what's next"

Well done Sandy. Yes, the years go quickly past and all to many ask no questions. Too many think they alread have all the answers. Nice write.

...and isn't it grand that it's only the beginning; children dance before they learn there is anything that isn't music.
