plenty of time by Charlie Morganyou say all those things, too; you ask
what about today, tomorrow, this summer?
like you're making a calendar of my life.
twice, i can think of, i was stopped
where doubt intersects with why not?
seems, i always follow this route.
each time i put on mekilt of nakedness
and feel the air, i know the rotation
of the world is fine, just here below
that needs some work, some house-cleaning.
Spring or not, our Mother Earth's carpet
can't take anymore dirt swept under it.
we have 5 billion years to make it right
before Father sun's helium/hydrogen dance
slows to a walk, skirts become listless
and men's trouser legs no longer hang limp. 05/07/2008 Posted on 05/07/2008 Copyright © 2026 Charlie Morgan

| Posted by George Hoerner on 05/07/08 at 09:39 PM Well done Charlie but you could square the 5 it wouldn't be enough time. We were born into this world selfish from the first cry for being disturbed and we've cried ever since for our "I". I suspect we'll get what we deserve. |
