Reaffirmation

by Madeline Pestolesi

They mocked me in high school
When I said you were my forever love.

The mockery continued at 21,
Which is still to young to know forever.

But here we are,
On the cusp of marriage
And I couldn't be happier
Or more sure
That you are my love.
And my life.

So let's jump off this cliff together,
With my hand in yours
There can be no fear.

Author's Note: I'm known my fiancee since we were 14. Now we're 26 and getting married in August. Yea!

...me too, on the age thingee near exactly, this is an affirming action, and too a reaffirmation of intent, tho early intent at age 14,15, 16 we were considered too young, we even knew it...and tho, not mocked, it was certainly unbelievable that i would end-up tremendously happy now at 38 years of marriage not counting the teen ages, i see me in this work but isn't that what emily $#%@inson did to people with her work...a lifting read...charlie
