grandson's airlift by Charlie Morgandaedalus brought forth icarus
making land-locked labyrinths passe,
for airborne gliding brought
them outside of a hellish maze.
yet, he glided, fell, but never flew;
his myths are many; can a myth be wrong?
any myth? all? could they all be right.
don't ask me, i am counting numbers.
matters of great consequence: my age,
your age, E.Q., your actuarial chart,
your benefits left when you retire.
then how many hours til i see Kai?
matters of great consequence, i iterate. 04/23/2008 Posted on 04/23/2008 Copyright © 2026 Charlie Morgan

| Posted by A. Paige White on 04/23/08 at 07:30 PM This is beautiful Chaz! I can so relate. Those grandsons... there just can't be enough great poetry written about them can there? This is just wonderful. I hope you are making him a little chapbook out of these... I keep saying I'm going to do that with the ones I've written for Logan but I think my procrastinator button has been pressed too long and now its stuck. Going in my favorites. |
