what time is it?

by Charlie Morgan

jimmy and alan are busy setting their watches
to five o'clock; while the dopers are one hour ahead,
to them at 4:20 they start getting different.

somewhere it's 5:00; somewhere it's 4:20
and nothing is getting done, today or ever.
i got answers, some requiring thought.

but waiting on 4:20 then 5:00 has me busy;
the sober world keeps at the wharf for ships.
awaiting to laden the masted for transit

to another place, another time.

today, i'm already glareing at tommorow's clock;
and the second had is stuck on 8 and no higher;
it's just 4:18; i'll be jointless and drinkless.

It was 4/20 a few days ago - a mellow day for many I am sure. This is a fine work; I especially like that last line. I guess we can always take comfort in the fact that it's gotta be happy hour some place in the world... That's what I tell myself anyway. ;)
