skipping stone by Jon-Jacob F Dealjust once
I'd like to find
an idea
like a river-smooth
stone,
warm and round and perfect--
no pann
ing
required;
no sweat
ing,
digg
ing
just the sweet fit of it
in the crook of my finger
and the sure arc of
my sidearm trebuchet elbow,
flinging it away from me
and skip
skip
skipp
ing away,
leaving spreading concentric ripples
on the glassy surface
of the world.04/16/2008 Posted on 04/16/2008 Copyright © 2024 Jon-Jacob F Deal
