cut to light

by Mary Frances Spencer

release the choking vines
fear anger frustration

exhale debris
clear
a new path
machete through jungle
cut to light

inhale peace
positive intention
sky shines tropical
pierce through dark canopies

fling away doubt
like sticky fronds
swat the pesky
climb over
or around
obstacles

open arms like petals
gather sun
peace love

everyday blooms
the beautiful journey
to you

Author's Note: Trying to write an affirmation or prayer here...could be to oneself or for another. I'm noticing that many people get caught up in a cycle of negativity. Is it possible to cut through it all and find peace? I say YES!!! MFS
