Sing don't speak it by Johnny CrimsonSqueeze away serenity
it tastes just like the afterlife
Bones are ground into pills
and taken without questioning
The elephants all fear the mouse
as the tiger roams with penis out
Lava is just jelly here
and bullets learn about remorse
With disease more like
a spider bite
The rapist starts to rape herself
No one is hurt intentionally
and if you're touched it's probably love
Because he's got machine gun
regrets
He's trigger happy with his friends
Who point at him and laugh because
he can't be in their world
Death is nothing if no one
knows you're gone 04/12/2008 Posted on 04/13/2008 Copyright © 2024 Johnny Crimson

Posted by Anne Boulender on 04/13/08 at 01:00 AM neil young has this song called "stupid girl" which is one of my favorite songs. the lyrics are so insightful about how so many women are, its sort unbelievable that a man was able to write that song about a woman. this reminds me of that because it taps into the female mind so precisely.
i feel like this really sums up my life in a lot of ways. every stanza here is brutal and pointed and true. the
"death is nothing/if no one knows your gone"
sad because there are a lot of people who are good, worthwhile people and they just get so totally pushed through the crack, left to disintergrate with the dirt at the curbside while others make so much noise. no one ever really sees them or hears them. maybe because so many are so busy with the "what can you do for me" bs or needing all the spotlight on themselves. those people who fall through the cracks deserve so much more. all the innocence in the world that has to suffer.

thats pretty much what 90% of the stuff in my library is trying to say but can't. this is very powerful writing and is probably the best thing you've ever written and the best thing on this entire site. i know you probably didn't mean what i inferred by it, but thats ok.

Posted by Coleman Demiurge on 04/14/08 at 02:43 AM "Bones are ground into pills" - "bullets learn about remorse" - "The rapist starts to rape herself" - "Death is nothing if no one knows you're gone"... This piece is what? 20 lines long? And pretty much every single one of them is a poem unto themself... This actually kind of reminded me of a song called "Sing", which I suppose makes the title all the more fitting. Anyway, a most excellent work, to put it mildly. |
