misunderstood

by Charlie Morgan

i live to be understood; today,
tomorrow, one more after that,
'til the end of my time here.

there will be gnashing of teeth,
comforting to some, flossing
with my brain's interstices.

another plowed row of words,
just another confusing splay
of my feelings auctioned off.

soon i will die of lead poision,
probably from a 38 or 45 caliber.
maybe not. maybe i'll just laugh.

Well, sweet thang, I'm voting for the alternative ending of laughter. It does a body good. Scripture says a merry heart doeth good like a medicine. Write out your angst... and laugh long and hard at your enemy's feeble attempts to discourage you. YOU are a destiny for God. He designed us that way. Don't forget that.
