I hear it quite frequently
although
it's never spoken aloud

It follows compliments
made by the truly well-meaning
but -
lets face it -
bent

trying to express themselves
without giving away the ugly parts:

'really attractive
(for a heavy [fat] woman)'

'really funny
(for an older chick)'

'really smart
(for a black)'

and it's
kind of okay with me

because I'm also like
that silent e -

you might not notice me
right up front

but in the end
I will change the way
you perceive

everything else.
