The Silence of Night

by Harold Millican

Silence in the night

Day in and day out
I here cries, and fussing, and shouts
I wonder and long for that serene time
The silence in the night

Pile on your cares and worries
And waft them ever so gently away
Be merry with life, be happy and gay

No more to work, just up or sleep
I am sequestered to myself there=s no time I keep
I feel free as a bird
And I do take flight
Embracing the silence of the night

Nothing else matters but the night=s hue
For this is my working hour
My mystic cue
To partake of gold in hoards of glory
Reflecting on history
For it is during this droplet of memory
I will not fight the precious silence of the night

No task or trade, or favor be done
To disturb the relentless soothing hum
Of tranquil skies and midnight dew
And silver light with a glorious hue

For night is come
but for only a minute
Celebrate All, Hold the roller coaster tight
Soon will be gone, the great silence of night

...i can hear the noises and see the squinking-tight eyes hoping it'd all go away...i love the whole pome[sic] but most especially adore this line: "For it is during this droplet of memory" droplet/memory, man that's one of the better descriptions of the thinking/feeling process i have ever heard, well said...so much [many] little itty bitty teeny weeny droplets o' memory are soooo fading. great work. peace, charlie

Very impressive; this reminded me a lot of the poem Acquainted With the Night by Robert Frost (definitely a good thing)... Excellent work.

Those last two lines make for a pretty damn powerful way to lock this sucker up. Great work all around, man.
