one hand clapping

by Charlie Morgan

i walk where she walked, the half-woman,
the strong woman doing work of the man.

her energy leeches up through my soles,
she becomes part of me; i drink solemnly.

oft i can feel her, hear her; she is me.
am i to be tormented in my shield of man?

transcending one step, slugging thru mire,
i reach the other side, i'm a saguaro cactus
only to flower and give life, retain my own.
yet watch life around me take shorter breaths
as comfort comes in sunshine, wind and rain;
the moon's glow a coyote's beetle-bug light.

a forever bow my posture for day's reckoning.

Enlightened is a good way to put it. Really liked this, man. As always.
