Riverside Poems (Three)

by Kathleen Wilson

over and again each lifts foot to wave
endless blueness into this one and yet not yet
lifted lifted one and thus to save
one lifted lifted step "Laguna"
almost more certain than shadows of birds

oarless resisting the pull of tide
I am your one boat mysterious empty trembling
I pull myself aside
of the many that wait at "Muelle de Pilotas"
before embarking you paint me spring green

After leaving you let some of the sky
fall into the hills like water
planted the trees of my
I sighed into irresistable "Camel Cliffs"
when missing you turned to sunlight

I'm tree turned into a carousel
even at a distance you've no perspective
flowers and buds jump out of the lake
to wish me well as a "Morton Bay Fig"
climb me with your spinning multiplicy
